It's always fun and flattering to be given catre blanche on the page - in this case, the opinion page of The LATimes. Even before I read the article, at the point of scant info, this image formed in my mind. When that happens, it's tough to ignore, so I sketched it up to see if it indeed did work. Luckily, the AD, Wes Bausmith, is fluid and receptive to all ideas.

The second image illustrates an article for the WSJ on Evelyn Waugh's books published as ebooks. Always disappointing to finess a work only to have it print the size of a postage stamp. It's funny how when these appear together, it becomes obvious that the same colors were employed.

Ugly Uncle Sam

Sam again...this time he's let himself go, and is out of step in an ever changing world.
After a brief hiatus from this blog and others (in an attempt to limit time on the computer - hah!) I plan to keep up the flow of images. So I'll start by throwing up (!) some recent images. Here's something I did for the Journal. The original included figures seated around the table. Post publishing, I removed them and have since titled this "The Tax Day Buffet".
